Day 1 (Split – arrival)
When you arrive at Split airport, you will be met by your personal driver and taken to your hotel. As you settle in and rest from your flight, you can spend the day walking through the city or have drinks on the promenade by the sea.
Day 2 (City Centre, Krka National Park & Skradin)
After breakfast, you will have an early morning tour of the city of Split You will be guided through the old part of the city where you will see many attractions, like the Diocletian’s Palace, cathedral of St. Domnius, the Ivan Mestrovic Gallery, the People’s Square and many more. Afterwards, you will continue your trip to the beautiful Krka National Park, which is just an hour’s drive. Exploring this National Park will be a onetime opportunity to get away from the busy city and spend the perfect day surrounded by the protected and untouched nature of Krka National Park. Inside the park, you have the option to take a guided tour or walk freely by yourself. After you have finished exploring the park, you will have a lunch break and then we will continue to the small town of Skradin. There will be a short sightseeing tour of this romantic city rich in history and later you will go on to Zadar.
Day 3 (Opatija & Rovinj)
Once you had your breakfast, your trip continues to beautiful Istria, with the first stop in the city of Opatija, a favourite destination for many tourists. Opatija’s architecture and buildings are like nowhere else, a beautiful symphony of renaissance, baroque, classicism, gothic, and many more. You will enjoy seeing of many attraction that Opatija offers, such as Hotel Kvarner and Hotel Imperial, which were the first two hotels on the Adriatic, as well as Madonna Del Mare, Maiden with the seagull, and many more. After sightseeing, you will have a lunch break at a local restaurant to try traditional Istrian dishes, made mostly from truffles. We will then go to Rovinj, your home for the next few days. When you arrive in Rovinj you will have some free time which you can spend relaxing or exploring the city on your own.
Day 4 (Hum, Motovun & Karojba)
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will start your trip with the city of Hum, the smallest city in the world. After an hour’s drive, you will have the opportunity to discover beautiful streets made out of stone, squares and huge city walls that are part of the rich historical heritage of the city. The “Aleja Glagoljasa” is the long path connecting Hum and Roc. Famous for the monuments that are dedicated to the old Croatian letter “Glagoljica”, visit Hum’s Fresca’s based in the Roman chapel of St. Jerolim and taste the home-made brandy “Humska biska”. After seeing all of its attractions, you will continue to Motovun, a small medieval city that is situated on a hill, about 270 meters above sea level, with houses that are dispersed around. Motovun is surrounded by solid walls, which are used as a path for walking and a perfect viewing spot. The city has remarkable architecture, which dates back to Roman, Renaissance, and Gothic times. Some of the main sights that you have to see in Motovun are the Church of Virgin Mary of Gates, Polesini Palace, The City Doors and more. After sightseeing in Motovun, your next stop will be Karojba, which is just 10 minutes away. Karojba is a small municipality in Istria, and as a perfect place for taking a break, you will have lunch at a local restaurant with the spectacular view of Motovun and the countryside. After lunch you can wander around the nice buildings, after which we will go back to Rovinj, so you can enjoy the city’s vibrant life during the evening hours.
Day 5 (Truffle Hunting)
This day will be as interesting as it sounds, as you will get to have the experience of being a true explorer, as after breakfast, you will go truffle hunting. A truffle is a type of fungus or mushroom, that is quite expensive and a truly delicious ingredient of many tasteful dishes. It is very rare as it grows in only a few places and can be found for just a couple of months in the year. Beautiful Istria happens to be a place where world-known truffles grow and not only can you taste these mushrooms in a variety of dishes, but you have the opportunity to hunt for them yourself with assistance from professional truffle hunters. This opportunity will definitely be a unique experience for all of the gourmands and foodies around the world. After this full day experience you will go back to Rovinj, where you can have a relaxed evening by the shore.
Day 6 (Portorož – Škocjan Cave – Ljubljana)
After breakfast, you will start a short tour of a few of the attractions in Slovenia. First stop will be Portorož, the cultural centre of the Slovenian coast. The drive to Portorož takes about an hour and a half, as you will cross the border into Slovenia. The city is a perfect getaway from big crowded towns, where you can relax and escape the city’s stress by enjoying your time near the sea. The next destination is Skocjan Cave, located just 40 minutes from Portorož. Skocjan Cave is the one part of a famous cave network in Slovenia, together with Postojna Cave, they make the most popular natural spot in Slovenia, inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List from 1986. You will have your lunch break there, at one of the restaurants that serve traditional Slovenian food. After lunch you will finish your tour in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, where you settle in the hotel and can enjoy the beautiful city on your own, by exploring the streets or having a drink next to the Triple Bridge.
Day 7 (Ljubljana - departure)
The last day of this tour will be at leisure for you to have some free time in Ljubljana, till the time of departure of your flight. You will be taken to the airport by your driver around 2 hours before your international flight, as you will have enough time for check-in and finding your gate for departure, as airport in Ljubljana is quite small, so you will not have any trouble finding your way.
